Rural Low-Income Families: Studies on their health and Well-Being

This website is a compilation of information from four multi-state, multi-disciplinary studies on rural families, the overall objective for each study, and a map of participating states. For more information on each study, click on the individual project page on the navigation side bar.

	To analyze the interactions among public assistance and informal social supports, community context, and individual and family characteristics and their relation to the functioning and well-being of rural low-income families with children over three years time.
	To determine the interactions of individual, family, community, and policy contexts on physical and mental health in diverse rural low-income families.
	To improve the health outcomes of rural, low-income families with children and of the communities in which they live
	To determine the most effective dissemination methods for the newly created Core Health Messages by identifying factors which help or hinder their adoption by rural, low-income mothers and the professionals who serve them.
